Cancun: The Jewel of the Yucatan Peninsula

Locals and visitors alike call Cancun the “Jewel of the Yucatan Peninsula”, and for good reason. This vibrant tourist destination was once an isolated coastal enclave, inhabited by the native Mayans and shrouded in jungle mist and mystery. Even today, as you walk through the dark stone halls of a pyramid in one of the nearby ruins, you can almost hear the deep drumbeats of tribal rituals, the sweet smell of maize being cooked over an open fire, and the echo of voices from a time long past.

Of course, Cancun offers plenty of other attractions. Bordered on the east by sweeping ivory beaches and green water as clear as a cocktail glass, this energetic city boasts beautiful hotels, excellent shopping, high-octane soccer games, and some of the absolute best nightlife in Mexico. Go snorkeling with the kids out by Isla Mujeres, throw on a SCUBA tank and go diving on the Great Mesoamerican Reef, or just kick back in the warm sand on the beach in front of your hotel.

We designed Club Regina Cancun knowing that it needed to live up to the reputation of the city that surrounds it. This resort features two uniquely-designed swimming pools and a jetted tub, and its rooms are equipped with personal jetted tubs and boast fantastic views of either the Caribbean Ocean or the Nichupté Lagoon. Best of all, our on-site Inizio Restaurant serves a deliciously eclectic fusion of Mexican and international cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Also, don’t forget to grab a hand-crafted Mexican cocktail at Bar Vajra or the pool bar.
