Birdwatching in majestic Birch Bay

Birch Bay is one amazing place to reconnect with nature, and during March, this is especially true as one of the best events for birdwatchers takes place in this spectacular bay: Wings Over Water Birding Festival.

The lush forests of the Pacific Northwest are the perfect place for many species, which migrate to this area from the warmer southern lands at the beginning of Spring. Check the schedule for the Wings Over Water Birding Festival

This destination has incredible sunsets and it’s the perfect place to create unforgettable family memories. After a fun day of clamming, kayaking, or strolling across serene beaches, you can retire to Sandcastle’s heated outdoor swimming pool.

Sandcastle at Birch Bay overlooks the bay itself, offering sweeping views of the majestic Pacific coast. It’s close to natural places like the North Cascade mountain range and the Birch Bay State Park, an amazing place for birdwatching and located only 2.5 miles from the resort.

Funny to stumble upon this post. I worked at The Landlubber in Birch Bay (not sure if it’s even still there?) back in the early 90s when I went to WWU. Love it up there.
